It is with deepest regret that we announce the following death:
Albert Lawton
St Joseph's Conference in Durham sadly mourned the death of Albert Lawton on 28th August 2009. Albert had been a member of the SVP for over thirty years and during that time had worked tirelessly to help the needy. As a Minister of the Eucharist he took weekly Holy Communion to the housebound as well as carrying out his SVP visits. A Knight of St Columba and twice Grand Knight he lived an active life in the Church. Albert was a convert to the faith who had a great interest in bringing other denominations together through the organisation of Churches Together. His funeral at St Joseph's was well attended; a fitting tribute to a much loved and respected Christian.
