Updated Ozanam Centre Pilgrims' Walk dates - 11th-16th October 2010
The Annual Pilgrims' Walk, due to take place mid-May has been rescheduled and will now be taking place between 11th-16th October 2010. If you would like to take part in the Sponsored Walk which takes the route which Celtic pilgrims walked in the 5th century AD, along the Llyn Peninsula to Bardsey Island please get in touch with Ozanam Centre Manager on on 01286 881568, or by email to steve@svp-ozanamcentre.org.uk.
Pilgrims' Walk Schedule:
• The walkers arrive at the Ozanam Centre on Monday, 11th October,
and the walk will start with a Mass in St Buerno’s Church on Tuesday.
• During Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday walkers will be exploring
the Llyn Peninsula taking in as many of the historic sites as time and energy
allows and returning to the Ozanam Centre for each night.
• On Friday the walkers reach Aberdaron and stay there for the
night in a local hotel.
The walk will cover a distance of approximately 40 miles in total. Each day the walkers will cover between 8 - 12 miles and the sponsorship level for the event is £400.
The aim of the walk is to raise much needed funds for the Centre and helps ensure the Ozanam Centre can to continue providing a vital service at a reasonable cost to its customers, who often come from backgrounds of deprivation and to who such a holiday can be lifechanging. The walk has been a great success over the past few years so please don't hesitate to get in contact if you would like to take part this year!
