Matt's Journey

Matt joined the Pioneer Project initially to combat boredom as he was in recovery. With time, he found purpose and direction in 3D printing, discovering a passion for creating designs and problem-solving. One of his proudest achievements is helping to design 'The Hungry Cupboard,' a community resource dedicated to supporting those in need. Matt’s involvement has grown from learning to leading and today he is a key facilitator in the program.

Dave's Impact

David, another dedicated Pioneer, has focused on designing new products and bringing licensed items to life through 3D printing. His work exemplifies how creativity and skill can open doors to new possibilities. Like Matt, David has taken personal development courses, refining his talents and now helping others find their way in 3D printing.

Pioneer Opportunities

3D Printing
Learn design, digital modelling, and 3D printing. This hands-on training gives useful technical skills that can lead to job opportunities, while also building confidence and creativity.

Allotment – Evergreen Project
A safe, alcohol and drug-free space where people in recovery can connect with nature, grow food, and enjoy the positive benefits of gardening.

Kitchen
Support our Kitchen Supervisor with tasks like making sandwiches and keeping the kitchen clean and safe. This role teaches teamwork and practical skills.

Furniture Delivery
Help deliver essential furniture to vulnerable families in the community. This keeps you active, involved, and making a direct difference to people’s lives.

Embroidery
Build skills and confidence through embroidery. Each piece created is more than just fabric and thread — it’s a step toward independence, pride, and hope for the future.

The Pioneer Programme is about more than activities. It’s about creating opportunities, building confidence, and supporting people to take positive steps forward.
