Providing food provisions for the local community

We continue to support the local community through food provision in record numbers. Between January and March 2024, we helped 966 beneficiaries with a combination of emergency food parcels and meals. Provision was up 14% from the previous three months as more and more people turn to St Vincent’s Birmingham for help and support in difficult times.

Our dedicated volunteers and centre manager played a huge role in meeting this local demand at four 50+ outreach activity sessions across Druids Heath. In addition to the direct support provided emergency/urgent referrals were redirected to Birmingham City Council and local SVP conferences.

Easter Egg Project

In partnership with Birmingham City Council we distributed 320 Easter eggs to young people and families across the Druids Heath area. Kind-hearted donations were received from Sainsbury's, Aldi, Iceland and Co-op Funeralcare. St Vincent's Birmingham also redirected funds from our Winter Food Aid Fund to ensure we had enough eggs for all those we were looking to help.

Thanks to the fantastic partnership we were able to donate Easter eggs the Spearhead Trust Youth Group, Maypole Youth Centre, Druids Heath library, a local women’s refuge, West Midlands Fire Service as well as children and grandchildren of our beneficiaries.
