SVP Vinnie Camps give children who need a holiday an opportunity to experience something that many children are able to take for granted.

Helpers are required to encourage, support and lead by example – sometimes this means taking part in the activity (although that’s not a requirement) and sometimes it means sitting back and letting the young people take the lead.

The camp is an SVP camp based on SVP values but we do not expect the helpers or children to be practicing Catholics and people of all faiths or none are welcome to take up this volunteer role. Our focus is on being a kindness camp where everyone (children and helpers) treat each other and anyone we encounter in a positive manner.

Key characteristics required:

  • High levels of energy
  • Patience
  • A sense of humour
  • A team player who is willing to ‘muck in’
  • A flexible attitude
  • A good communication

  • Must be prepared to have a DBS enhanced check done
  • Must attend an interview as part of safer recruitment process
  • Must provide 2 references as part of safe recruitment process
