Through our Twinning links, we have supported local SVP groups in Sudan for decades.

Sudan has suffered a devastating civil war that has left behind a trail of destruction of unimaginable proportions and human misery. Thousands of people who fled South Sudan into Sudan during the conflict now face daily discrimination and live in makeshift camps with no fresh water supply, little food and an uncertain future. 

Unfortunately though, due to the outbreak of conflict in April 2023, we are currently unable to safely send any funds to SVDP Sudan, in line with International Regulations and rules regarding humanitarian funding in conflict zones. We have therefore paused donations for Sudan SVDP.

We continue to pray and hope that the conflict in Sudan reaches a peaceful and imminent end. As soon as we can do so safely, SVP England & Wales will restart our support and work to help communities rebuild their lives.
