Named after the founder of the SVP, Ozanam Camp on Holy Island has been run by the SVP, since 1954. Whilst it began as a field of tents (and remained so for sixteen years) the generosity and hard work of volunteers enabled the camp to develop into a purposed built centre.
The aims of the Camp remains the same as it was in 1954. We aim to provide an affordable, safe and enjoyable holiday for children from a variety of backgrounds within a caring Chistian environment.
Camp is open to children of all denominations in school years 5-7 inclusive.
Throughout the week, the children will take part in a range of activities, such as:
Treasure hunts
Table tennis
Football tournaments
Friday night concert/talent show
Discos
Team building games
Beach walks
Sand dunning
Craft activities
Team building games
Silly sports
Land art
Rock pooling
Exploring the local wildlife and great outdoors
All activities are weather dependent and vary week to week depending on volunteers’ skills. Each week will have a range of activities to suit different interests and keep your child occupied every day.

Lindisfarne (Holy Island)
Holy Island is a small tidal island off the coast of Northumberland. It is reached by a causeway which is open twice daily for six hours. The island has a long and colourful history and became a centre for Christianity when St Aidan founded a monastery there in 625AD. The remains of priory can still be seen on the island despite many Viking riads. The island boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the UK, bird watching and wide open space the children love.
