By supporting the Deaf community and those local to the area – we aspire to bring people together. We offer advice information and guidance, and weekly mentoring and peer support sessions.
Our focus is on education and person-to-person support to empower the local Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Hearing communities - that’s everyone!
As a part of our ongoing deaf and social justice advocacy, the centre is involved in academic research taking part in various policy-shaping studies. We also engage with business and tech companies to support their searches for innovative and inclusive approaches bridging gaps between cultures.
To inspire the next generation of creative digital technologists and data architects we work with deaf and hearing schools, offering coding and creative workshops from our centre.
The centre hosted the Manor Urban Art Exhibition which aims to empower diverse groups and engage the community.
The exhibition which opened in September, was an exciting collaboration between the St Vincent’s Deaf Centre and the Northern’s ‘Station Adoption Scheme’.
On display as part of the exhibition, is a range of ceramic, clay, textiles, knitting, woodwork and metal art pieces that together form a colourful masterpiece, now publicly displayed for everyone to enjoy.
