The Newcastle Deaf Centre serves a vibrant community with some members facing deep hardship. We believe that no child should live without the bed, winter coat or school uniform. Through creating meaningful Partnerships and Collaborations, and with the kind support from our Funders, we can supply emergency aid to those in crises. This support goes beyond finances; through offering English and BSL Classes, conversation groups, employability clinics and upskilling workshops, we elevate people to build brighter futures.
"Being a member of this community is fun on so many levels. I remember the day we went to the Newcastle University. We played so many fun games and also had a cooking and nutrition session where we made pasta. It also helped me overcome my fear of dogs when we went to the farm. It was a really fun day." - DCYG Member

"This is life changing! Now I can be like everyone else and go to the pictures with my friends and family whenever I want. I love Sci Fi films and now I’ve got something that would have come out of a Sci Fi film a few years ago right here in my hands!”. - Smart Glasses AI VR Research -Young Deaf Participant
