Mini Vinnies come to Westminster Cathedral
Over 800 Mini Vinnies from around the country descended on Westminster Cathedral for a Mass celebrated by Bishop Paul McAleenan and Fr Ged Walsh, Young Vincentian Spiritual Adviser.
The Mini Vinnies are the youngest members of the SVP, and do good work in their local communities, through the motto "see, think, do".
During the Service, Bishop Paul invited the children to come up to the Altar and speak about their work with the homeless, older people, and the sick in their immediate homes, towns, schools and parishes. Mini Vinnies were also involved in altar serving, the offertory, singing, and readings. A banner procession took place with Mini Vinnies representing 36 schools.
SVP CEO Elizabeth Palmer made an address, and thanked the children and their teachers and coordinators for all their hard work.
The Catholic Universe published an article about the Service which you can read here.
