Vincentian Heart Speaks Unto Heart at The Passage
On a hazy Tuesday morning in July Fr Padraig Ryan, a Catholic chaplain at the homelessness charity The Passage, invites SVP Senior Media and Communications Officer, Anita Boniface to attend a prayer meeting with a small group of homeless men and women.
In a feature written for the Catholic Times, Fr Padraig tells Anita of the Vincentian charism lived out through his every day work, from giving out baths and towels to help wash away lice clients are suffering, to restoring the self esteem and sense of dignity of each man and woman he encounters.
Fr Padraig gives a deep insight into the motivation and unique qualities of St Vincent de Paul's charism, and how such a founding principle gives so much hope and help to vulnerable people such as those who are homeless.
