St Vincent’s Newport, which sits on Commercial Street, relaunched their shop earlier this week, and has now become a 1-2-3 shop, meaning all items will be £3 or under.
On September 16, shoppers new and old were welcomed to the store which is filled with clothes, bric-a-brac, books and other essentials that are available for a fraction of the price.
Donations to the shop are always welcome with the store being open Monday to Friday from 9am until 4.30pm and Saturdays 8.30am until 4.30pm and donations can be delivered then.
Changing the shop to a newstyle charity store was decided in a new attempt to give locals the chance of finding a great bargain, all whilst supporting the work of the wider St Vincent de Paul Society (England and Wales).
The SVP is part of an international voluntary organisation that is dedicated to tackling poverty in all its forms through person-to-person contact. Currently the SVP has 11 Community Support Centres that sit in the most deprived areas of England and Wales which offers support to anyone regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, religion or circumstances.
