in memory of Tim O'Sullivan

The St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) England and Wales is deeply saddened to share the death of Director of Internal and External Affairs, Tim O’Sullivan.

Tim was a much-loved and highly valued member of the SVP family, having dedicated himself to the Society’s mission of serving people experiencing poverty, loneliness and disadvantage through his work.

Throughout his time at the SVP, Tim was passionate about communicating the SVP’s mission and ensuring that the voices and experiences of those the SVP serves were heard. He worked to strengthen the Society’s relationships with the Catholic Church, the media and many partners, always with a deep commitment to the principles of faith and social justice.

Tim will be remembered by colleagues and friends for his warmth, kindness, generosity and dedication. His contribution to the SVP and to the wider Catholic community has left a lasting impression.

Kate Nightingale, CEO of the St Vincent de Paul Society (England and Wales), said:

“We are heartbroken by the loss of Tim. He was a deeply valued colleague and friend and his commitment to the SVP and its mission was evident in everything he did. Tim cared passionately about people and about our responsibility as a Catholic organisation to stand alongside those most in need.

“His warmth and friendship will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of working with him. We hold Tim, his family and all those who loved him in our prayers at this very difficult time.”
