Epiphany reflection

For people of faith, the Epiphany marks the revelation of Christ to the world through the visit of the Three Kings to the baby Jesus.

Today marks the end of the 12 days of Christmas. And so, the Epiphany brings to the end this festive season but with it comes the symbol of hope. As we enter a new year it is a reminder that acts of kindness, compassion and generosity can be so important.

In times of struggle and hardship, the themes of hope, generosity and the offering of spiritual and practical encouragement make a difference. With The Epiphany reflecting this, we ask today for you to consider a donation to the SVP’s Doors of Hope Christmas appeal.

In challenging times such as these, hope is a precious resource.  And though we may be facing dark times, the Epiphany serves as a reminder to us that there is hope for the future.   All is never lost. Right now, the SVP are helping countless people who are facing hardship. That is why our Doors of Hope are so significant.

Just as baby Jesus was visited by the Three Kings on this day, we visit those in society who need us most. Through our person-to-person befriending, delivered by our incredible 8,000 strong members, we deliver the gift of friendship and the comfort of being there and showing we care.

If you cannot donate today, please keep all of those less fortunate and in need of hope in your prayers.

And however you decide to celebrate this Epiphany, do so with love and kindness.
